Nicholas Liaw, MD

Dr. Liaw studied Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University, and completed a combined MD-and Mechanical Engineering PhD degree at University at Buffalo. During this time he performed laboratory research and published multiple peer reviewed papers on the biomechanical mechanisms of cerebral aneurysm formation. He pursued residency training in Neurology at the University of Miami followed by fellowship training in Vascular Neurology at UCLA. He completed a fellowship in Interventional Neurology at Mercy St. Vincent hospital in Toledo, Ohio.

Dr. Liaw is passionate about the rapidly evolving techniques and technologies being used for treating neurovascular diseases like acute stroke and cerebral aneurysms, and how they might be used to help save lives more effectively.

His hobbies outside work include painting, digital art, comics, hiking, and indie video games.
